Who's Afraid of {Cute, Little} Monsters?

Hi Amazing Classroom friends!

It’s Krista again with this month’s clipart set from Creative Clips Digital Clipart. Last month, I offered a spooky, Halloween set of clips to jumpstart your autumn holiday materials. However, there are a lot of schools that don’t let you do Halloween activities, or you may have a student in your class that keeps you from incorporating Halloween resources in your lessons. Personally, I love Halloween and haven’t run into that problem yet, but when I do, I am already set with a back up- little monsters!

This month, I have a cute, friendly set called “Monsters Under the Bed” that I’m offering up to you. There isn’t a Halloween connection and it could be used at anytime of the year. It would be a great substitute for Halloween stuff if you are in need or one. The very first set that I posted on The Amazing Classroom blog was my Monster Mash set. That bundle was the inspiration for “Monsters Under the Bed,” so the monster characters actually are the same, but additional poses and expressions! Make sure you download the Monster Mash set from Amazing Classroom if you haven't done so already!

This 29-image bundle of clipart includes vibrant, colored images, as well as the black line versions to make worksheets and recording pages in your lessons. Each of the peeking monsters is a separate image, so you can position them under/over or on the side of the other images in this pack- make it your own! Here are a few suggestions for using it with your kiddos…

For the little learners: Create a word family sort on your promethean/smart board. Use the peeking monsters to create word cards and pair the “bed” images with a specific word chunk such as –at, -ight, -ake. Then students would have to drag the monsters to the correct bed they should be “hiding under.”

For older learners: Frightening Factors: Older students can practice identifying factors of numbers with a factor sort. Put different numbers on each bed and create number cards with the monster faces for each corresponding factor. Students then sort the “monster factors” to the correct bed. This could also be done on a promethean/smart board or printed out as a math center.

If you still haven’t had enough of these little monsters, I have a big freebie of Monster Themed Writing pages that you can snatch up {HERE} from my TpT store. I used this monster clipart to create them, so they would go along with any other activities you create on your own.

If you are a member of Amazing Classroom, no need to purchase.  Head on over and log in to your account, go to whiteboard resources, resource packs and download.  You can choose between the Promethean resource pack, Smart Gallery Pack, or just a zip file of the images!

If you are not a member of Amazing Classroom.com you don’t have to miss out on this bundle! Head over to my Teachers Pay Teachers store where you can purchase it for just $4.00. Hope you have a “scary-good” time creating with this set! Create and Enjoy!
